MY THOUGHT TODAY...

Have you every stop to think how much pro athletes and Hollywood stars get paid?  I have been tossing this around in my head for about a week.  I have a really hard time understanding that there are so many people in today's world starving, jobless and homeless. So many senior citizens can't afford their daily medications.

Many athletes are making over a 6 to 9 figure income.... just to.....ENTERTAIN...Yes Entertainment is what I call it....I really don't consider playing a sport hard work or even a job for that matter.  Not to long ago the NFL went on a strike.. SERIOUSLY... I mean don't you make enough money throwing the football around and falling on top of each-other. Talk about GREEDY...I think most of them needed to add to their 8/9 car collection....

I wan't to puke when I watch that show where you can see their houses, cars and their lifestyle.  I mean do you really have to have like 5 cars?  and a 10,000 square foot house....Wait the 10,000 square foot house was their kids play house or their pets room...hahaha.....

Now lets move onto adopting in a foreign country.....I mean SERIOUSLY....The last time I looked the USA had a lot of children that are waiting be adopted.  Why is Hollywood going to boo foo Egypt to adopt a child...Are children in the USA not good enough? I guess everything else is made in a foreign country why not go grab a kid from there.  Or maybe its for more publicity, it's kinda like how many people want to get a designer puppy...Hollywood wants a pin up child... and they are trying to save the world.. How about our world....Wow...I really think that is said and pathetic.

I love to rant.....wonder if I could get paid for that....

PENNY SAVING HOUSEHOLD HELPER

TODAY'S I wanted to share some daily tips from the book I got from the Library.
Penny Saving Household Helper, by Rebecca Diliberto.

KITCHEN- PENNY SAVING HELPER

***Marinate inexpensive cuts of meats in a mixture that contains at least one of the following: tomatoes, citrus juice, vinegar, papaya, pineapple, or beer.  All contains enzymes that combat toughness.  Then slow roast.

***With the cost of high-quality meat a pound of hamburger doesn't go far.  Try mixing a few handfuls of crushed cereal or bread crumbs into your hamburger to make it go further.

***If you are not sure whether an egg is fresh, don't throw it our right away.  Instead see how it behaves in a cup of water.  If the egg is bad it float...If it's fresh it will sink.

***Do you have molded cheese?? Wrap a few sugar cubes in with your cheese.  The sugar will absorb moisture.

***If you burn milk on the stove when heating it on the stove, add a pinch of salt to take away the scorches smell and taste....( I have so many times did this)

****A bay leaf slipped into a container of flour, pasta, or rice will help keep the bugs away.

***Mushrooms can get slimy when stored in a refrigerator, at room temp they seem to spoil or harden overnight.  Control their moisture level by storing them in a refrigerator  in a brown paper bag, or in paper towels.

***Storing you brown sugar in the freezer will keep it from hardening..

***Turn a tissue box into the perfect dispenser for plastic grocery bags....

***Need ice for a party?  Use Empty Styrofoam egg cartons make great ice-cube trays when you need extra ice.

***Next time milk is on sale and you have room in your freezer, buy several gallons.  You can freeze milk without affecting its taste or quality for up to 3 months.  When your ready to use it, thaw in the refrigerator for 12 hours, and them shake to counteract any separation.

***When crackers, pretzels, or chips have gone stale, revive them by spreading them out in a single layer on a jelly-role pan or cokkie sheet and broiling for a minute.  (I am definitely going to try this- my kids always leave the chip bag OPEN)...

*****THESE ARE SUGGESTIONS FROM THE BOOK...I have not tried any of these, but tend to give a few a shot.  If you have every tried these tips and they work...let us know!

CHECK BACK TOMORROW FOR MORE TIPS....

KEEP CHECKING BACK....

My daughter and I went to the library to grab her a book to read for school...I was browsing the internet when she came running to me and said, "Mom they have coupon and money saving books"...Well I just had to check them out!

The books are called: Five Hundred Little Ways Penny Saving Household Helper, by Rebecca Diliberto
Point, Click and $ave, by Rachel Singer Gordon

I glanced at these books and they had some really great tips on saving money and actually earning income online.  That seemed LEGIT....

Everyday I will try to post a few ways they suggest that will $ave money and what they suggest you can do to earn you some extra income!

I also grabbed some cook books while I was there. I walked out with 6 books.  Leaving the library my daughter looks at me and then put her book in front of her face like she was embarrassed.  I asked her, "whats wrong"  with an ALMOST TEENAGER LOOK ON HER FACE SAID....omg did you have to get the whole library and cook books at that.

Well I guess COOKBOOKS are now embarrassing to almost soon to be teenagers.  GESH...I need help to keep myself updated on what not to embarrass your kids with...On the other hand....maybe I should of gotten MORE BOOKS!  There is always next time!!!
